I would expect things to still work that way. BP Group Hierarchy Propagate doesn’t touch which group an activity item is assigned to, it merely intercepts the display of a group’s activity stream and drills down to include those in relevant sub-groups.

Have you tested behaviour as yet?

yes I did, propagate works like it should, and notification does notify about the post that was posted in the group where a user is member, but it does not notify about posts from a sub-level groups.

I would like to achieve that a user gets notified about the post from sub-level groups that is not a member, but is a member of parent group of those sub-levels…

Probably the notification plugin does not recognize the propagated posts, since they are only included in the stream and not actually posted.

At this point I think that solution would be to include the activity stream in the notification, but then again notifications would be duplicated I guess…

    any suggestion?

    thanks!

I understand your issue, but don’t think there’s much I can do about it as it’s outside the scope of what this plugin does. The BP Group Activities Notifier plugin, on the other hand, could test for the existence of this plugin and act accordingly. Perhaps the developer could help you further?

Thank you Christian, I guess I’ll have to discuss this with developer, or find another solution…

    Cheers!
