Notification shortcode – Prevent displaying number 0

Hi! I’m using the [profilegrid_unread_notifications] shortcode to create a bell icon with a circled number on it whenever a user has a pending notification. The shortcode displays correctly the number of unread notifications every time.

Is it possible to achieve that, whenever the notification is zero, not to display that number -nor anything else? It is very UX-unfriendly for a user to see a highlighted “0” when s/he has no notifications.

Is there any custom add_shortcode() php function for a similar shortcode to achieve this? Or maybe adding an parameter/attribute to [profilegrid_unread_notifications]? Thank you in advance.
