    The users with subscriber role are not receiving the notification in the email for the new post published. The site has the latest version of the plugin and also has an SMTP setup. When checked in the Email log, the notifications were sent until Sept 23. Since then the notifications are not being sent. Notifications are sent to some users but for some users failed message is seen and further notifications to other users are not being sent.

    Thanks for your message.

    If the notifications are being sent (as shown in the email log) but not being delivered, this points to a potential issue with email delivery.

    When email delivery fails for a single user, subsequent emails are not sent to the remaining recipients. The error logs indicate a soft bounce followed by a Fallback error stating “Unable to send mail.” We are currently using Post SMTP configured with the Mandrill API for sending emails.

    Previously, delivery to other users was unaffected by the failure of one user’s email.

    Hi @fedsmartsites,

    Nothing has changed in the plugin as far as I’m aware that would prevent emails from being sent after a soft bounce. It’s possible the Post SMTP plugin has recently been updated and has caused this however so it may be worth testing with a version of that plugin from the time when you knew emails were being delivered successfully.
    It may also be worth investigating the email account of the user who relates to the soft fail to see if this can be resolved.
