So much creepy Problems

    Hi, i′m using your Plugin for a few years now. But today i had a few problems after not touching or looking at it for nearly a year. Of course i always made the updates when they came out.

    I had the Problems after i wanted to change an automatic newsletter. That worked fine. After i watched the settings and changed something also everything was fine. But after the last newsletter went out everything begins. I became a copy of every single Newsletter to my adress and the links didn′t work. If the subscribers clicked on them the page was white.

    So i uninstalled the Plugin and installed it again. I saw that every single setting is still there and found your knowladge-base articel with the plugin to remove everything. I did every single step.

    Now i wanted to install it again to have a clean installation. It seems to be done good. But when i changed to the settings i got massive errors like:

    WordPress-Datenbank-Fehler: [Table ‘web166_db13.blog_wysija_user’ doesn’t exist]
    SELECT * FROM blog_wysija_user WHERE wpuser_id=1 ORDER BY user_id DESC LIMIT 0 , 1

    I then saw that there are no database tables. And i′ve tried now everything. But i don′t get a clean install with the database tables.

    After going to the settings again i now get this creepy error:

    Das Update auf die Version “2.1.6” von MailPoet ist fehlgeschlagen!
    Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Zeige weitere Details.

    The Details are:

    Table ‘web166_db13.blog_wysija_user_list’ doesn’t exist (UPDATE blog_wysija_user_list as A inner join blog_wysija_user as B on (A.user_id= B.user_id) set A.sub_date= B.created_at where A.sub_date=0 and A.unsub_date=0 and B.status>-1;)

    After that i was going to the advanced settings. There i made the Fresh Installation. Now everything seems to be ok. But im very afraid to use the plugin after all that. I don′t belive that everything will work. And i don′t want to send crap to my subs if it will do this. And i don′t want them to land on a white page again.

    Perhaps a statement? Perhaps an information if the plugin will work correct? Why does this happen? Anything incompatible? What is the problem?

    Well, the problem is that before trying to fix or look for a proper solution for your first issue (links not working), you tried to uninstall MailPoet with that plugin that remove its tables. That plugin does the job specified, but it’s not recommended because it creates several other issues as you have noticed. The solution for these errors is to reinstall MailPoet through the Advanced settings tab, Reinstall button. The plugin works fine, the steps you took weren’t the proper ones, should I say. That plugin should be used as a last resource, not as normal tool.

    Thank you for the information. It′s important for a good administrator to understand what went wrong if something does. I hope that no more problems will come up – but when, i will reinstall first if i dont find antoher solution.
