I’ve added an .avi video to media gallery, but nothing will play. It won’t play to generate thumbnails, it gives errors about ffmpegx being missing. And on the page all it shows is a blank box with the play button over it.

I’m seeing an error message in a grey box in media library
    “Can’t open movie file.

sh: /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg: No such file or directory”

Can I get some assistance with this, please?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

AVI files are not compatible with any browser. In order to play an AVI file you would need to convert it to a compatible video format like H.264 in an MP4 container. If you had FFMPEG installed on your server you could use my plugin to convert your AVI to web-browser compatible formats. If you can’t install software on your web server then I would recommend converting the AVI before you upload it using an encoder like Handbrake.
