    Can you retry with all other plugin disabled so that we can rule out interference by another plugin

    It’s not working with WP-Optimize, I have turned wp-optimize off for now since I really only need it on when I use it.

    it stopped working again so that was not it. it turned out to be wordfence security. I made the changes I needed while it was deactivated and then reactivated it.
