  • I think this is something to do with the latest version as the same thing happens for me. Try going to the developers tab and downloading the 2.9.1 version which is the previous version and that worked for me. Quick link below.

Thanks for the effort Paul… but no such luck for me. Looks like it may be a problem with my theme. There are a number of noted issues that I have found with elegeant themes (www.elegantthemes.com) and streaming video. Not changing my theme… it’s too perfect, so gonna have to use youtube or vimeo until my theme people straighten it out.

I was having a similar problem and I had to add the MIME type to my webserver, for the file type I was using

i am having the exact same problem, video player box appear but not loading. but audio mp3 is fine.

    Same thing here.

    I have the same erro!!!!!

    Same here.

Chrome 27.0.1453.94 = Black box but video runs when Play is pressed.
Firefox 21.0 = Black box & video does not run when Play is pressed.
IE 10 = Video displays & plays like it should. (AMAZED! I’m so used to IE sucking.)
Safari 5.1.6 for Windows = Black box & video does not run when Play is pressed but the Loading wheel runs…forever…
iPad = Video displays & plays like it should.

Here’s the code. I think it’s how it should be.

    [video width="560" height="350"
    mp4="https://www.discoverybeachouse.com/wp-content/themes/discoverybeachouse/videos/AboutUs0613.mp4" ogv="https://www.discoverybeachouse.com/wp-content/themes/discoverybeachouse/videos/AboutUs0613.ogv" webm="https://www.discoverybeachouse.com/wp-content/themes/discoverybeachouse/videos/AboutUs0613.webm"]

    Here’s the link. https://www.discoverybeachouse.com/about-us

    Thanks,
    Paul

I have the same problem. I’m using m4v video files and the browser is Firefox (platform: linux) and wordpress 3.5.1. I installed the plugin (I’ve seen mention of mediaelement.js being “in core”: does that mean I should not have installed the plugin if my version is 3.5.1?).

What’s strange is that if I go to the mediaelementjs.com site, the video there works fine for me …so it must be a setting on my host or my wordpress install. Someone mentioned something about mime types on the webhost but without giving further detail.

Does anyone know what the status is on this?

I am having the same problem. Please advise how I can address this ASAP!

Judging from the lack of solutions for over 6 months, I don’t think there is one. Unfortunately, it seems that it just doesn’t work as it should.
