Nothing happens after payment

Hi,
I’ve just did a test payment but nothing changes. After payment I was redirected to a membership confirmation page which said that a welcome mail had been sent to my e-mail address but I didn’t receive it. Nothing shows up in the members list.

I’m using Paypal standard as a gateway. I don’t know what to change to get this to work. Any help would be much appreciated.
