Hi there, I just activated Relevanssi in hopes that I could refine my search the way I want it but it looks like the plugin is having an issue with the theme I use XSimply and would love to have both working together.

What’s happening is search results are leading no results no matter what options I put into the plugin.

I’ve looked through a few other posts of themes not working well with relevanssi but couldn’t find a fix for my specific issue.

    My theme’s search.php looks like this: https://pastebin.com/DKv0f3CD
    And it’s extra template content-search.php : https://pastebin.com/aNCzdv42

I just can’t quite figure out what’s messing up Relevanssi and any help is much appreciated!

There’s nothing wrong with the templates, the search templates are built in the right way. Does the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search) find results as expected?

If index is built correctly and you’re getting results from the admin search, it’s possible another plugin is interfering here.

(Your drawing style looked familiar. I checked and I remembered correctly, I’ve seen your art featured on OJST. Nice work!)

Admin search also does not yield any results. I’ve also deactivated all plugins but I am still left with the same issue.

    Also thank you!~

Ok, two options here: either there’s some problem with indexing, or the search weights have been set to zero. Check the weights on Searching tab. Are they all positive values?

If that’s not the case, can you please show me a screenshot of the Indexing tab of Relevanssi settings?

All the search weights are above zero, yes.

Here’s a screenshot to my indexing tab. https://jpawlik.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Screenshot-2020-03-03-07.45.01.png

The indexing page says there are 0 documents in the index. Have you built the index? What happens if you click the “Build the index” button?

Ah shoot I did miss that completely! My bad! That did the trick, thank you so much for helping me out with that, much appreciated!

    It works perfectly now!
