Nothing except title

Have you actually put Display Authors Widget in a sidebar? Also read info from here.

Yes, have tried the widget in two sidebars and footer. I get the title ‘Authors’ but nothing else. I’m using Hueman theme.

I tested it with Hueman theme but as you said it didn’t work. With other themes it seems to work. I look into it.

I found the problem. Add this CSS in your child theme style.css or use CSS plugin.

.display-authors-widget .clear {
   visibility: visible;
   width: 100%;
   height: 100%;
}
