    Hello,

just installed the plugin, turned caching on, but as far as I can see nothing is cached.

Directory /wp-content/wpo-cache is empty unless a /config folder.

Directory /wp-content/cache/wpo-cache contains only a .htaccess file and an empty index.php

There IS traffic on the site, nothing is cached…?!

Pre-caching also brings nothing, unless the counter says “xx pages on xxx cached”… But nothing in the directories…

All this, with or without GZIP compression.

    Any suggestion? Thank you ??

  • @stanxxx Could you please try to Wipe settings from WP-Optimize > Settings > Wipe settings, click the Wipe settings button, then try to Preload the urls from WP-optimize > Cache > Preload and then check if the files are generated into the cache folders?

    Hello!
First, thank you for replying! Not that often that developers care about bugs ??

    I wiped the settings.

Then when I try to preload, get a message saying “Page cache is inactive” (I translate from my language). If I go to “Page cache” and switch the button to “activate”, then go back to preload, same message…

    And nothing in directories.

Could you please check if the cache folder has 0755 permissions?

    Of course, permissions are 755…

@stanxxx Have you performed a conflict test yet?

Try deactivating all plugins except for WP-Optimize and see if it is resolved.

If so, reactivate each plugin one at a time until you find the culprit. You can check for the issue between activating each plugin, so you can see which one is causing problems.

Please let us know your findings.

This is a production server with 200.000+ pages by day, impossible to disable all. We tried disabling (and even completely removing) “sensitive” plugins (autoptimize, wordfence, lyteyoutube) that could create problems and interfere with cache, nothing changed. We will probably get rid of the so-called “cache” plugins that often fail, finally good configuration of opcache gives about the same result!

@stanxxx I suspect it could be compatibility issue with other plugin so the files are not able to write to cache folder, if you can create a staging site and then run a conflict test then we should be able to know if its conflict with o=some other plugin.

Well I disabled all plugins but your, even switched to a default WP theme, same result.

@stanxxx Could you please let us know the PHP version installed on the server?

    Thread Starter stanxxx

    (@stanxxx)

    PHP 7.4.27 (cli) (built: Dec 14 2021 17:17:06) ( NTS )
    Zend Engine v3.4.0,
    Zend OPcache v7.4.27

But on SOME sites on the same server, that works fine. And on another server with the exact same config it also works fine.

We are currently reinstalling the site that bugs on the same server with another domain name, adding plugins one by one and checking the cache every time. If all works at the end we will just switch the domain names.

@stanxxx Okay do let us know how it goes?

    Hello,

Finally we reinstalled the website on the same server and guess what? It works at the new place! I really don’t understand, datacenter helped to audit the site and server, they don’t understand too! This is strange, but finally it works, and of course site now rocks ?? Thank you for your help, in a few days I will consider the “paid version”, just a lot of things to fix before!
