Nothing appears when I run wp-admin/install.php

  • I have added the required info to wp-config-sample.php and saved it as wp-config.php and uploaded the entire system to my server, which is karldallas.com, with the sub-directory /kdshopper. But when I try to run https://karldallas.com/kdshopper/wp-admin/install.php I get a blank screen. No error message, just a blank screen. Perhaps the upload (which seemed to take an awfully long time, wasn’t properly completed. I am going to try a new upload and hope this will be more successful.

    I re-uploaded to a different directory, https://karldallas.com/WPsales-site/wp-admin/install.php, and got the following error message:
    Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at sql5c25d.carrierzone.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    Are you sure that the database server is running?
    If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    Here is the relevant entry in wp-config.php:

    I will check these entries tomorrow, but I am certain that they are correct, since I copy/pasted them from cpanel equivalent on my server.

    Now go change your passwords from your wp-config.php file RIGHT NOW. No, don’t tell me I’m being harsh. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD. What you did was incredibly dangerous.

    Now that you did that, ask your webhost if sql5c25d.carrierzone.com is running.

    I have received the following report from my host:
    Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
    Your MySQL connection id is 19891987
    Server version: 5.5.24 MySQL Community Server (GPL)
    mysql> show tables;
    Empty set (0.16 sec)
    That means the hostname sql5c25d.carrierzone.com is running.
    It would not connect if the hostname is not working.

    I don’t know why the database is empty. Is that why the WP installation is not working?

    For install wordpress put your files into kdshopper directory,change wp-sample to wp-config into kdshopper directory and run url https://karldallas.com/kdshopper/ for install wordpress.
