Notes to customer not being received.

so earlier today all emails other than “order complete” weren’t being received. there was an update to woocommerece 3.5 when i got off work, did the update and all the emails are now being received, however notes are not being received. email log is showing they are being sent. anyone know of a possible issue causing notes to not go thru?
