• Hi Chouby

As noted in another thread in the polylang support forum, we’ll do a large migration from WPML to Polylang (about 12’000 posts with a total of 90’000 term relationships in 8 taxonomies). I will use this plugin as a basis to do the migration – if it works from scratch: great.

If not: Maybe I’il ask you 1-2 questions, but I think I understand both the concepts of wpml/polylang enough to improve the code, if there are problems. Maybe I need to do this with transactions/chunks because of the data size. We’ll see. Anyhow, if I’m improving the code I’il contribute back to this plugin if that’s ok with you.

    Hi!

WPML to Polylang is currently still more a “proof of concept” plugin rather than a production version. I have good feedback so I know it works well (at least up to WPML 3.1.8) and certainly it helped a lot of users.

But I am perfectly aware that it doesn’t scale on big sites. I have a positive review with 11000 posts but your site is one order of magnitude bigger.

Of course, I have the goal to improve the situation. According to the feedback above, the main issue is memory, so my basic idea is to split the process making several ajax requests. This plugin could be an inspiration source.

But I do not plan to do this in the coming months. So if you plan to contribute back improvements, I would be very happy ??
