Not working with WP blocks

Free version installed (first time trying it) on 5.3.2 – embed of a Google map url does not work. I paste the url. There is no visual. The HTML result is:

</div></figure>I then tried to use a Classic block. The first time it showed a large purple rectangle with “Embedding” but never showed the map. Second + times trying the url is pasted as text.
