    Still seeing things like “United Trust Bank & # 8 2 1 1 ; First Charge” in the email subject line. We’re using WP Mail SMTP and Google GSuite as an SMTP rely.

    Is this something you can fix?

    Hmm.. the long DASH between the words Bank and First is showing like: – but looks alright on this page.

    Solved this by install “BBPress NoSpam” and checking the option in settings:

    “Subject Line Encoding Encode Subject line using UTF-8.”

    Thanks Mike. Glad the BBPress NoSpam option sorted it – this plugin doesn’t mess with the encodings (which can vary depending on server setup etc), just tweaks some of the internal filters applied within WordPress.
