I get a “debug in safe mode” error from my page builder, Elementor on my site. I raised the issue with the Elementor support team and they have advised as follows:

“Upon checking your dashboard, I noticed the issue:https://prnt.sc/s8oinw
The problem seems to be related to the plugin WooCommerce PayFast Gateway. When this plugin is disabled the issue does not happen and you can edit the pages.

I’m forwarding this ticket to my superiors to be revised and we kindly recommend reporting this issue to the third-party plugin author as well, so they may further troubleshoot and provide any recommendation (or possible fix) to resolve this issue.

If they need any technical details regarding Elementor, they are free to open an issue on our Github page where our developers will be happy to collaborate directly with them.

We have also made a note to our development team ahead of time for them to also review this issue.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi there!

I’m not exactly sure why it is conflicting with your page builder, but WooCommerce PayFast Gateway does not promise compatibility with any page builder.

If the plugin devs for Elementor are not able to further assist with the conflict, the best way forward would be to open a feature request under Ideas Board, which is where plugin developers go for future plugin improvements.

That said, please do note that we cannot promise an ETA on the patch / if this is going to make it to the plugin roadmaps.

I’ll mark this topic as solved for now. Please feel free to open a new topic if you have any other questions.

Thanks Aashik, but this is terribly disappointing. Elementor is one (if not THE) biggest page builder used by the WordPress community and one would think the Woocommerce team would do their best to ensure their products are compatible with basic website builders. I will list it in on the wishlist as you recommend but ultimately guess I would need to leave Woocommerce in favour of another plugin in order to handle my transactions.

That’s a fair expectation. I completely understand your concerns. Hopefully, it is considered in one of the future plugin updates.
