• Doesn’t work with WordPress 5.0.3 and Gutenberg active, gives a blank page with a message that reads “Cannot load cal.”; if you deactivate Gutenberg (at least when you do it with the Disable Gutenberg plugin) it works.

Tested both in production and local environments.

    Hello Orlando,

Thank you for using the Editorial Calendar. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it.

I just tried this again and it’s working well for me. Do you see this problem if you try it out my test blog here: https://www.zackgrossbart.com/extras/sandbox/wp-admin

You’re right, it works in your setup.

But in my setup, with both editors enabled (classic and Gutenberg) by using Disable Gutenberg, it does not work.

Hope it clarifies the issue I’m experiencing.

    Thanks in advance.

If it works for me and not for you then we need to figure out what the difference is between my setup and yours. Are you running a special theme? Can you try disabling other plugins and see if that fixes it? It’s possible for other themes and plugins to interfere with the calendar.

Clean WordPress 5.0.3, default theme (2019), no plugins except Disable Gutenberg configured for dual editor use (old/new) and obviously Editorial Calendar. I’ll ask for support at the Disable Gutenberg forum also.

Did you do any special settings or something else like that? I’d really like to figure out how to reproduce this on my blog. Thanks.

On Disable Gutenberg, uncheck everything; I do that so I get the links to add and edit posts using the previous editor for old content, and also I can continue to use Gutenberg for new content.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, just checking if you were able to reproduce the error I’m experiencing.

    Thanks in advance.

I haven’t been able to reproduce this in my test blog.

Ok, back to Google Calendar I guess.

    Thanks anyway.

I kept testing several scenarios, and now I know that the message (“Cannot load cal.”) comes from WP itself, it seems it can’t load Editorial Calendar due to user capabilites; now, back to the Disable Gutenberg plugin, in its settings everything except “Disable Nag” is unchecked; in this setting Editorial Calendar fails to load. However, if I disable Gutenberg for admin (that is, check “User Role = administrator”), Editorial Calendar loads correctly…but I lose the hability to run both editors.

Hope you can do some more tests.

    Hi Orlando,

I’ve done a bunch of tests and I still can’t reproduce this issue. Is there any chance that the Gutenberg plugin isn’t the whole story? Do you have any other plugins or themes installed?

    Thread Starter Orlando Alonzo

    (@ogalinski)

Exactly like I said earlier: clean WP 5.0.3, the theme is 2019, and only EC and DG plugins installed and activated. Made a terrible video about it:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OZSpLPXRCWISH8jircjLuiLM7zpMVe2G/view

It’s on a local install, but on my site I get the same result.

Thank you for the video. I have a separate blog that I use for testing. If I gave you an admin credential to that blog do you think you could reproduce this issue there?

    (@ogalinski)

    Yes, of course!

What’s a good email address for me to send the credentials to?
