Since the changes from the 5.x version to the rewritten 6.x version the plugin does not work anymore.

I don’t use any cache plugin but cloudflare APO, no other minify plugins. I have also disabled Cloudflare, but the plugin didn’t work.

Any idea how to fix this is greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your work!

    Hey csab1915,

    thanks for reaching out.

If I am reading the information in the source code correctly, the element you are trying to fix on that page does not exist.

    I might miss something, though.

Please let me know which element should be fixed and which option and which values in it did you use to accomplish that.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hi Thomas, thank you so much for your answer! I very much appreciate it.

    WIDGET in question: widget-16

    Settings of the widget:
    https://ibb.co/kMQB4mH

    Settings of fixed widget plugin:
    https://ibb.co/D9vyLwx

Any idea would be very much appreciated!

    Hey csab1915,

    thanks for the helpful details!

I will check the compatibility with Advanced Ads again. In the meantime, could I ask you to add .widget-16 to the “Custom Fixed Elements” option and let me know if that works?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hi Thomas, you are a welcome! I have added .widget-16 to the settings, flushed cache, but no difference ??

Interestingly, it worked flawlessly until the big update (>6.x). Perhaps it is a theme conflict. Let me know if you need anything from my side. THANKS!

    Hi csab1915,

    thanks for trying this!

Please try removing the checkbox on the “Improved version” option.
If that alone doesn’t help then please remove the input from the “Stop Widget” option.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hi, we are getting closer! ??

    If I…
    * unclick improved version
    * delete stop element
    * mention the id of the widget to be fixed

    it WORKS!

Here is the setup that worked: https://ibb.co/6YMPyvs

But I had to apply all three things, otherwise, it was not working. You can check the page in question now, it should show the fixed widget.

Let me know if you need anything else

    THANKS a lot!
    Best, Gerald

Thanks for testing and your feedback! It is not a general issue that I can reproduce, but we will look into it.

    Thanks,

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your work.

    I use a theme by codesupply.co

Settings that now work for me (fixed widget version 6.1.0):

    * improved version: NOT used
    * stop elements: I need to use a CLASS; id did not work
    * custom fixed element: I have to add the widget’s class specifically. Just tagging “fixed” at the widget option did not work for me.

    I’ll keep on trying.

    THANKS and best regards

    Hey csab1915,

I just uploaded a dev version with a potential fix for your situation. Would you mind downloading it from the link and testing if the widget can be fixed using the options you set originally?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hi Thomas, wow, I really appreciate your work and time!!! YES, it works now!!! Only one minor thing: I need to specify the class of the widget which is to be fixed (see screenshot): https://ibb.co/7JHKMFs

    MANY THANKS! AMAZING WORK!

    Hey Gerald,

    thanks again for your feedback.

While working on another issue, we noticed that the fix we applied to help your case is breaking other, more common, setups. So we had to revert it.

The solution for your case should be to disable the “Use improved version” option. Could you try that with the official release?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hi Thomas, sure, no problem. I am using the regular version now, works fine. Thanks for your work!
