    Hi,

Actually on 0.55 you don’t need to refresh permalinks anymore. Bug on your WordPress installation is due to the missing trailing slash at the end of the permalink. This is not really a frequent situation, I can add a check to automatically correct the permalink in case of, in the meanwhile you can set a permalink ending for /

I made that change – however, the issue remains, view https://talk2david.co.uk/2013/04/simple-test-of-multi-page-post/ and see that the subpages still cannot be navigated to

Now the link is correct but it doesn’t load at all, it hangs on loading, no 404 appears. Have you tried disabling every other plugin to see if it’s due to a conflict?

I see the ‘No posts has been found’ message – it is working properly, in that it is going to the 404 page – the link is not resolving to anything but the first page

    This page:
    talk2david.co.uk/2013/04/simple-test-of-multi-page-post/subpage-image-of-the-month-february-2013/

Doesn’t load at all to me… hangs on waiting for talk2david.co.uk, then ends with:

    The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Before the permalink changes the url for the second page was:
talk2david.co.uk/2013/04/simple-test-of-multi-page-postsubpage-image-of-the-month-february-2013 now it’s correct but the problem now is something other. Could you try disabling all plugins and then enabling just sgr nextpage titles?

    Thread Starter DavidGMiles

    (@davidgmiles)

check it now – all bar yours disabled – now the permalink is working

    (@davidgmiles)

Any idea what the issue is – Ive just had to disable all my plugins, which has compromised the sites functionality severely

    (@sgr33n)

You see, you have some plugin enabled that messes with redirections. Try enabling back one plugin per time discoverying wich one it is ??

    Thread Starter DavidGMiles

    (@davidgmiles)

It is Hide My WP, https://hide-my-wp.wpwave.com that caused the issue, but I have no idea why, but having been hacked on WP a few times in the last few months, this is an essential part of my arsenal

    Plugin Author Sergio De Falco

    (@sgr33n)

It could have some settings that messed up redirections. I suggest to change every password you had in the past and use an htaccess password on the wp-admin folder. In this way you cannot be hacked again ??

    Thread Starter DavidGMiles

    (@davidgmiles)

I tried that an still got compromised, plus I removed all TimThumb usage from my theme – hence falling back on this plugin to mask my usage of WordPress

We are going off-topic, but see here:

    Home

you think all these super famous websites are afraid to make know people they are using wordpress? why you do? Just use safe sourcing plugins and for extra safe add an htaccess password. If they hacked your website the same maybe you had a virus that let they know your passwords, and in this case no plugins or extra secure settings can help you. Just secure your PC.

    (@davidgmiles)

And this morning – no plugins apart from SGR active – it’s not working again – literally, SGR is the only plugin active

    Thread Starter DavidGMiles

    (@davidgmiles)

Happy to provide you with an admin username and password to the site if that will help

    Plugin Author Sergio De Falco

    (@sgr33n)

Sorry but I cannot do this. I’m pretty sure it’s not SGR NP Titles the cause, just because since 0.65 it automatically reflush rules on activation and on deactivation. The only issue on your configuration was the missing trailing slash on the permalink, and this could be a “bug” that I will fix in next versions, but except this you could have some other plugins that are messing with permalink rules.
