Not Working on Ubuntu Server

Thanks for using this plugin.

I have checked with the RSS feed url on your above mentioned website. It works perfectly on my server. For troubleshooting,

1. When you are adding podcast player widget in the widget area and hit save after entering feed url, Do you see any error message in red color? If yes, please mention the error message.

2. To make sure that this problem is not related to podcast player plugin, please add wordpress native “RSS” widget to the widget area and check what it shows (after entering your feed url). If result is same as podcast player widget, it is most likely server or wordpress configuration error.

3. You can use Health check plugin to see if it can find some common configuration error.

Kindly follow above mentioned steps and reply here. We will try to sort this out.

Thanks for the reply, I have spent the last two evenings at this problem and your suggestions were very helpful.

Ok so I have spun up another server and now the podcast player works for other podcasts… but sadly not mine.

To answer your questions.

1. No, I do not get any error message

2. The native RSS widget doesn’t work with my podcast either, it doesn’t show information from the podcast RSS instead, shows a single article.

3. Health check plugin showed that I was missing some PHP modules. I have sorted this issue but no luck. Also says my PHP version can be updated, but since I am already on version 7.0, so I haven’t addressed this yet.

Anyways thanks for the help, I think that I need to look into the RSS issue, maybe WordPress’s own RSS feeds are affecting my old RSS feed, cause it isn’t working on iTunes either.

I don’t think there is any issue with your RSS feed. That feed url is working perfectly on my server (check this screenshot).

Also, when you click on the hamburger icon of podcast player. It will show a “visit website” link. On my server it is showing ’50hzpals.ie’ correctly but on your website it is showing some ip address. (I think it might be helpful to troubleshoot).

As it is not podcast player related issue, therefore I am closing this ticket. However, if you have any query or question, please feel free to create a new ticket.

The issue has since sorted itself out, some change I made must have just needed some time to come through. Anyways thanks for all the help and for creating this great plugin.
