    Hi,

I have three websites that I run and on all three, hCaptcha stopped working within the last two weeks, which forced me to stop using it and rely on reCaptchav3 and Really Simple Captcha. Any hCaptcha will show, but after completing a captcha, it will say “Invalid Captcha” or lately it will simple not proceed after a submission button is pressed.

Any suggestions please? Let me know if you need more information to help diagnosis this issue. Thank you.

    Hi @jeremyaweston,

hCaptcha supports 37 different plugins and themes. Without additional information, I cannot guess what has happened on your sites. At least I need a link to the problem page.

    Thank you.

On my simplest site, a blog with no content, I have the following plugins, and the hCaptcha won’t work. Clicking on login on wp-admin just clicks the button without any action. (site: https://www.jeremyweston.com) Any thoughts? w3tc is configured with page cache, database, object caching using apcu has a backend.

    Plugins:

    Classic Editor
     Classic Widgets
     Contact Form 7
     Easy WP SMTP
     hCaptcha for WordPress
     MailPoet
Matomo Analytics - Ethical Stats. Powerful Insights.
     Really Simple CAPTCHA
     W3 Total Cache
     WebP Express
     Wordfence Security

You should turn off login security in Wordfence settings. It is impossible to check the form by two captchas. See JS error in the console. https://prnt.sc/b0hLUe_K88Je

Even with login (reCaptchav3) turned off in wordfence, it still throws a
“hCaptcha error: The hCaptcha is invalid.” when attempting to login. After two factor security is entered and submitted, it returns to the login screen with the error.

I thought hCaptcha was compatible with reCaptcha because there is a slider in the settings menu for hCaptcha that allows to Disable reCaptchav3 capability.

I turned off w3tc and the issue persists. hCaptcha validates the login, TFA is entered, and hCaptcha returns ““hCaptcha error: The hCaptcha is invalid.”

As is clearly shown in the picture in my previous comment, you have reCaptcha running.

You should deactivate Wordfence, not W3TC, to see that the reCaptcha badge in the lower right corner of the screen disappears.

@kaggdesign, has stated in my previous comments, I disabled WordFence login security and the issue did persist. The badge was not there. hCaptcha still gave warnings.

It was only after I disabled Wordfence completely that hCaptcha for WP started working properly again.

It seems that up until recently, your plugin was compatible with WordFence. This only started happening within the last few weeks.
