    Hello,

I had the plugin working well on an nginx-apache (proxy) server earlier, but it has stopped working since I moved completely to nginx. The mailbox being accessed is a custom domain email hosted on outlook.com with pop3.
Here is the debug log from postie plugin – https://pastebin.com/aamdeSN2.

I was earlier using pop3.live.com as the server and have tried with pop-mail.outlook.com but to no avail.
Could you please help me figure this out?

    Ajay

I don’t think the issue has anything to do with nginx. Postie is timing out when waiting for the mail server to respond. This typically means you have the wrong host, wrong port or the server/firewall is blocking the port.

    See https://postieplugin.com/faq/postie-wont-connect-mailserver/

Thank you. I am trying to connect to an outlook.com hosted custom domain email from an aws server. I have opened the 995 port for traffic from everywhere too, still not able to resolve this.
Have you seen anything like this before, any pointers?

Does netstat or telnet show that your mail server is reachable from the aws server?

Nope, looks like there is some problem. I have opened the port from the management console but doesn’t seem to help.

Sounds like you need to get some support from AWS.
