• Hi Luke,

I’m running a WP MultiSite 5.1.1 with 3 domain names (1 main blog, 2 sub blogs). Having to log-in upon every blog-switch is a hassle.

In Safari, I activated your plugin on the main blog. Logged out. Logged in automatically. Then the same for two sub blogs. That worked… So it seemed.

Then over to Chrome. Did not work, would not remember. Even after re-logging in on all blogs. Just as if the plugin wasn’t activated.

So… I reopened Safari. Now the cookies were lost there as well. And I had to enter the UN and PW for all blogs again.

Login data is the same for all blogs, as I am a SuperAdmin.

    Is this a known issue?
I would love to be able to use both browsers (development) for all blogs. Cookies per browser sounds logical, but not per session, right?

    Please advise…
    Patrick.

    Hi Patrick,

Thanks for getting in touch and raising the issue.

This isn’t a known issue, I’ll setup a multi site instance and do some testing on my end.

    Thanks,
    Luke

    Hi Luke,

That would be great! My configuration is:
WPMS with sub domains (not sub dirs), a new domain name per blog (so not, sub1.domain.com, but seconddomain.org).

By default WP already uses one cookie if you’re on sub dirs/sub domains, without domain mapping. So each domain nam needs its own cookie anyway.

    Thanks for the details Patrick.

Just to make you aware, this might take a bit more time to fix than I’d usually like. Mainly because I myself have never used a multi-site setup! So I’ll be getting my head around that, then looking at how to make Persistent Login compatible.

Hope you can bare with me and thanks again for the information!

    No problem! ??

The domain mapping used to be done with the MU Domain Mapping plugin, but since WP 4.X you can set that directly in the Network Admin Site setting.

I have deactivated the plugin for now, because, well nothing had changed (with or without, LOL). But I would LOVE if you got it working. If you need help, let me know. ??
