• hi,

your plugin works great for me on desktop, opening the facncybox, but not on mobile – on mobile it’s just a link, going to Youtube

any known reasons for this? I do have jquery updater, but why work only on desktop? I do not have a separate page for mobile, it’s the same

    thanks

  • Hi, the light box effect was created before the mobile era so not really suited for small screens. There is an option on Settings > Media called “Minimum browser/device viewport width” where you change the smallest screen size it should function on. If this option is empty, the light box effect should work on even the smallest device.

If it’s still not working, then there is something else going wrong…

    thanks
yes, the option is empty, but (only on mobile) the light box is not showing at all, it’s just a link. I tried by manually adding your “fancybox-youtube”, but still the same

if you can take a look here please [ short link deleted ]

    thanks again

@dreamsoft Do not use short links in these forums, that has been abused in the past and is expanded when found. I have expanded yours into the link field.

That field is not visible to search engines.

Hi @dreamsoft I checked the link on a normal browser and mobile. In both cases there is big script error preventing the popup from happening. I would guess this happens when not logged in, not due to the fact that it’s a mobile or desktop browser…

The error seems to suggest that there is a problem with jQuery library. Looking at the source code, the jQuery library seems to be loaded multiple times. I suggest starting with disabling (temporarily) these two plugins:
    – jQuery Updater
    – Lite Tooltip

Then test the link again ??

thanks, but I cannot disable those plugins, they are both vital to my website
maybe you are available for some custom paid work, if you think of a way to solve this?

Looking at the source code, it appears that it is the Lite Tooltip plugin that loads its own version of jQuery on top of the one by jQuery Updater. Is there an option in the Lite Tooltip plugin to prevent it from loading its own jQuery library? If not, maybe contact the developer about the bug?

Anyway, to try to work around it, you can try the different FancyBox options on Settings > Media under Miscellaneous > Theme & plugin compatibility. Try “Do not include standard WordPress jQuery library” first but if that is not enough, maybe “Move scripts from footer to theme head section” and the others. And maybe change the script priority (either a very large number or 0) and test each time…
