if attributes are in url and they define which variant needs to be preselected gallery won’t load for that one, it loads the default.

To replicate the issue add a variable product to cart and click on the image in cart to open single product page with GET attributes of target variant. eg. example.com/product/?attribute_xxx=YYYYY&attribute_pa_xxxx=YYYYY
