I have installed Tortuga and Wellington but neither of them seem to be displaying Widgets in WordPress 5. Is there a plan to update them soon.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for using Tortuga.

All our themes are 100% compatible with WordPress 5.0 and the new Gutenberg Editor.

The 5.0 update also makes no changes to widgets, these work exactly the same as in version 4.9.

I guess some other plugin you’re using is breaking the widget area, but it is not our themes.

    Best,
    Thomas

For my 40 year career of software design, the standard was ALWAYS

be robust to prevent other things from breaking you, and never include code that breaks others.”

That kept me in demand to the degree that I never had a day unemployed, across 7 companies/division failing under me.

Themezee’s standard on all my issues and most others seems to be:
    “Blame someone else.”

@themezee. Thanks for your help. I imported an existing page from a WordPress 4 site and the widgets are now working. Not working on new pages created in WordPress 5.

@tserkel Sorry to hear you feel that way. Our focus is to solve issues, not to blame anyone. Based on experience, careful testing and bug reports we can often tell if the issue is more likely within the theme or caused by something else.

@jfambrini I would suggest to check your plugins. You have some caching plugins active, which can cause these issues. You can deactivate all your plugins and see if the widgets are displayed then. If yes, enable your plugins one by one to find out the responsible plugin.

Merry Christmas to all of you ??

Happy Holidays @themezee. Thanks for making such wonderful themes. They are the best of the lot when it comes to Magazine themes. Absolutely best! Thanks! Would like to be able to edit them in Gutenberg as want to add some functionality into existing themes. Not sure if that is possible.

All our themes have been prepared for WordPress 5.0 and the new Gutenberg Editor. The features include styling for new blocks, editor styling and custom color palettes.

    Cheers,
    Thomas
