    Hi John,

I’m very glad this plugin has been updated from the previous version. Thank you.

I’ve successfully used it in a regular WordPress site, but when I tried using it in a site with Elementor, it didn’t work as expected:

    I click the Search button.
The screen shows the matches and the replacement text properly highlighted.
I click the Replace button. It finishes.
    I click the Finish button.
I click the Search button again and the matches aren’t there (having apparently been replaced)

However, when I check the page, the original strings are showing, and the pages template were changed from Elementor Canvas to Default (which results in a few changes in the page layout).

At this point, if I go back to SR and hit the Search button for the same terms I had thought were replaced, they show as matches again.

Can you give an example of what you are searching for and replacing with?

Trying to search for some uppercase letters with diacritical marks, and replace them with a string, like:

    Search for ê
    Replace with: kekeke

    Search for ?
    Replace with: ckckck

These exact same searches were performed on the regular WP site, I only had issues in a site with Elementor.

Search Regex is working correctly, and it updates the post. However, Elementor works in a very non-standard way, and stores data in its own place. When you edit the post you are actually editing Elementor data, not the post.

    Interesting.

I do see the posts in the database as changed by Search Regex, and yet when I visit them, it’s all reverted to whatever it is Elementor last recorded in its internal files.

Thanks for taking the time to investigate this.
