    Hey Dan,
Am really thankful to you for this wonderful plugin, for some reason from the last couple of days, it’s not working. However, my site is very new and not getting much traffic but there is definitely some activity on my site. like new comments
I start using CloudFlare a few days ago. Do you think that cause some problem? and yes CloudFlare analytics does show 105 unique visitors but nothing in google analytics.
I set bounce rate and enqueue order to 0.
sorry if I am missing something.

Difficult to say. Cloudflare should cache the static files and serve them from their servers. In other words, ga-local.js should still be triggered.

Could you view the source of your website and search for ga-local.js. Do you find anything?

    Okay… so, It starts working.
I basically reinstall the plugin but couldn’t find any local-ga.js file in source code as you mention. First thing came to my mind is Autoptimize plugin.
which aggregating and minimizing all JS into HTML. so I just exclude the local-ga.js file from Autoptimize and it starts working.
I also set page rule in CloudFlare for local-ga.js URL to bypass cache but that’s off at the moment so there was no problem with CloudFlare.

Hi Garry, how did you do that? I tried to exclude: local-ga.js
    but nothing changes.

    Hey outcat,
please check attach screen shot below. under javascript option in exclude list
    just add local-ga.js

Maybe you can try deactivating autoptimze and clear all sort of cache, purge CDN if you are using any.
Then go to your website from different browser or from mobile phone and check real time visitors in google analytics.

Thanks. That’s what I did but it doesn’t seem to work. I noticed that when I visit my website from an incognito window the tracking code gets loaded but if I use the browser the code is not loaded. Is it normal?

    Thread Starter Garry

    (@mrgarry05)

Do you mean not loading in source code?
If it happens while you logged in as wordpress admin, then most likely you not gonna see anything? in source code, Because by default CAOS disable analytics for admins.(which make sense… You don’t want to keep counting yourself)
However, You can enable that in settings…
If you don’t mind sharing your link I can tell you if analytics is working or not.

Thanks for the help, Garry. It’s much appreciated! I already checked outcast’s page and tracking code is loaded fully.

    (@outcats85)

Hi.. Thanks to you all. Yes the code is loaded but for some reasons if I head to GA , the real time page doesn’t show my visit. But if I load my blog from the incognito mode I see my visit. Weird.

As Garry already explained, this is expected behaviour, because you’re logged in as administrator. CAOS doesn’t load the Analytics code, when you’re logged in. (You can change this however by enabling ‘track administrators?’ in the plugin options.)

That’s why the session is tracked when you’re incognito. In an incognito session you’re not logged in as an administrator.

If you’ll log in as administrator in an incognito session, you’ll see that analytics stops tracking you.

    (@outcats85)

Yes Dan, I know. I mean that I enabled the option ‘track administrators’ but it still doesn’t track me.

Did you empty the w3tc cache after changing the setting?

    outcats85

    (@outcats85)

    yes indeed.

Strange… Any other caches enabled? Cloudflare? Varnish? Redis?

    outcats85

    (@outcats85)

I have cloudflare. I tried to set up a rule to avoid caching the local-ga.js file. I choose: cache level: bypass.
Not sure if it’s the right one though

Can’t help you with that. Never used it. I suggest reading the documentation and figure out how to disable cached pages loading for WordPress administrators.
