• [Update #2: Upgraded my rating due to great tech support. Thank you.]

[Update: very prompt response from the plugin author — thank you! I did make a mistake in my review re: an ad tracker — my bad, and removed from the review below. I still maintain that this is not the plugin for you if you want a simple donation button.]

I took over a Web site with this installed. Fixed it once a few months ago by reinstalling, now it’s broken again. [Broken meaning the PayPal button does not display.] That’s two strikes. Strike three is the non-standard login authentication scheme for the plugin family — I prefer the standard, simpler way that most WordPress plugins use. Why isn’t authenticating as a WordPress admin sufficient? Why the additional step that makes it hard for multiple admins to work together on a site? KISS.

The tipsandtricks-hq PayPal donation plugin looks promising — I’m going to give that a try. [Update: entered my PayPal donation e-mail address, checked the optional box that opens the PayPal screen in a new tab, added a short shortcode, done.]

    Hi there,

Very sorry you had trouble with your PayPal Button Plugin. That’s definitely not normal that the Button would stop displaying on your site. Our support team would love to take a look — please email us at [email protected] with a link to the site where we can see the issue. The AddThis Edge tracker issue you mention sounds like something unrelated to POWr, but if you could provide more details on what is happening there, we’re happy to take a look.

Regarding the login, right now we safely store all Plugin data in the cloud, making it necessary to have an account with POWr. However, we are definitely looking into making some improvements to that.

Looking forward to hearing from you and helping you figure this out!

    Cheers,
    Pilar

Thanks for your prompt response! I fixed my ad tracker error comment, and updated my review. I appreciate your offer of tech support, but your plugin is not the right solution for someone who wants a simple donation button — so, no point in me spending any more time on it.

    Thanks again!

No worries, thank you for updating the review and reporting back!

Truly sorry that PayPal Button didn’t turn out to be the right solution for you. Glad you’ve found other options to explore. Hopefully, you will consider trying another one of our Plugins in the future.

    Have a good weekend!
