not working for genesis slideshow

This plugin doesn’t seem to work for posts that already contain images. I do not want it to automatically set one of them as featured image.

What I want is to have a default featured image, unless I specify one for that post, even if there are images attached to the post.

Can this plugin do that?

I’m using latest version of genesis
