I can see the panel on the individual CPT edit screens, but nowhere to edit the SEO meta for the CPT archive pages. Is this something not available with your plugin, or being added, or am I missing something?

This would unfortunately stop be using your much cleaner plugin over Yoast, which has this.

    Thanks.

    Hi Dave,

Aside from bulk-editing, this is the most requested unimplemented feature, and it’s something we’re working on:
    https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/issues/20#issuecomment-252874509

In fact, we need this feature too for one of our landing pages. We had prepare for this in TSF, hence v3.1 was released with the big title and description output reworks.

So, you can expect it sooner rather than later ??

Yeah this is a must have for any SEO plugin, not sure how it’s usable for anyone without this, unless I guess they don’t use CPTs in their site.

Looking forward to when you can release this, as apart from this a very decent plugin.

I think that’s a bit of a stretch ?? But yea, it’s an important missing feature nonetheless.

You can stay tuned by subscribing to the issue linked above ?? Cheers!

I think it’s a valid viewpoint, even if you don’t (it is possible to have multiple valid viewpoints ?? ). At present this plugin is unsable for me for any site I build that uses CTPs (which is most of them).

Best of luck getting the updates finished, will look forward to it.

    Hi Dave,

Just so we’re on the same page: You’re speaking of “unique” post type archives, solely detectable via is_post_type_archive(), correct?

Not terms, as, for example, provided by WooCommerce: “Product Categories”? Those are fully supported, already.

For the post type archives, we do have example filters available. A bit tedious, but they do their job: https://theseoframework.com/docs/api/filters/

Yes, whether it be coded in functions.php, or via a plugin such as CTP UI.

Great, thanks Dave! First, I’m going to make sure TSF v3.1 is as stable as it can be, and then I’m going to plan out this feature. Feel free to contribute your thoughts, needs, and ideas over at Github.

Until then, have an awesome weekend!

Any update on this, it’s been noted by two clients that I tried using this plugin for but may have to remove. Or do you have some code workaround I can use in the meantime?
