    I’m not sure if this hasn’t been working all along or if it just started happening because I don’t use IE – someone just reported to me that it wasn’t working. Basically when someone enters their email in ie and hits enter or clicks subscribe, it reloads the page with their email address in the bar and does not send a confirmation email or tell them they are subscribed or add them to the subscribe2 table in the database.

    I made a few edits to the look and feel of the plugin, so I thought they may be related, but I upgraded to the newest version and I was still having the same problem, so either the newest version and my version have problems or there have been problems all along. Any insight into this?

  • @c.ostmo,

    What version of IE? I’ve just tested my own site with IE8 (the only version of IE I have access to) and it worked fine.

    hmmmm. I am also testing it in IE8. I didn’t get back because I thought it might be linked to other problems with my site, but I have fixed all of those and it still doesn’t seem to work. Have you had any problems like this before?

    My site is https://www.pureplantessentials.com and your plugin is the widget that says, “Subscribe to Our Blogs”. Any ideas?

    @c.ostmo,

    I don’t have access to IE from home, only at work. I’ve tested your site with another browser with the user agent set as IE8 and it worked fine.

    hmmmm Okay, well I will let you know if I can get it to work. If it worked with the User-agent set to IE8 in another browser, it probably has nothing to do with the way the plugin is rendering for IE8 – maybe it has something to do with IE itself? I don’t really know what to make of that, but I have tested it on 4 different computers with IE8 and it didn’t work on any of them.

    @c.ostmo,

    Now I know your site I’ll take a look next week. All I can offer at the moment is that IE sucks! ??

    I’m not sure why re-installing the plugin the first time didn’t solve the issue, but I tried it again and it worked. From there I could pinpoint the problem. Apparently IE does not support an image as a submit button – that is the problem, it would not submit. The solution(sort of): For IE, put a button there and make the image the background for that button.

    Thanks for putting up with me mattyrob.

    haha I know! IE is the bane of my existence.

    @c.ostmo,

    Ah, yes. I’ve read about that one but never been bitten – IE really done’t play nicely with images in places where it expects there to be plain text buttons. I’m glad you have a fix.
