    Hi rossmcclure81,

    To use it as a gallery in the sidebar like on the first site you mention, you should use the innerZoom function from the settings and add gallery shortcodes in the sidebar with specific gallery id’s. You can find more information on this topic at the wordpress codex site.

    I don’t know if you know how to do that, but I think you can get pretty close to the desired effect.

    The SZG is not responsive. Making it generic responsive, working in every theme on every device is not that easy, to make an understatement. You can however, use it on a responsive site. The CSS can easily be overwritten or modified to fit your needs.
