• I’ve been on the fence for a long time about this plugin but Paypal called me 5 or 6 times to push their 4X payment solution.

Despite the bad comments, i gave it shot…

All the Paypal payments since have been creating problems : payments denied, orders validated without the clients details (no name, no shipping adress etc)

I’m rolling back to the old plugin that was working perfectly.

It is beyond me how such an important plugin for so many website is still ,after months of dev, not capable of providing a simple working solution.

    Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We regret to hear about the challenges you’ve encountered using the PayPal Payments plugin. Our primary goal is to ensure that our users have a smooth and convenient experience, and it’s unfortunate to hear that your experience has been less than satisfactory.

That said, I would like to address some of your concerns and hopefully shed some light on the issues you’ve faced.

Firstly, the issue regarding “denied payments” is typically related to PayPal’s internal system rather than the plugin. PayPal Payments simply facilitates the transaction, and it doesn’t have the authority to deny or approve payments. This is strictly a function of PayPal, or the buyer’s funding method (e.g. the security system of a bank rejecting a card payment attempt). We understand that it can be frustrating if payments fail, but we suggest reaching out to the PayPal Merchant Support for clarification in these instances as the plugin doesn’t have any control over this.

Secondly, the problem of validating orders without client details (such as name, shipping address etc.) is a known issue introduced in the latest update 2.2.0 that may occur under specific circumstances, particularly when the checkout process has been customized on your site.

As the team is working on a solution for this issue, a practical workaround is to downgrade to the previous version 2.1.0 of the plugin. This version does not have the reported issue and should run smoothly until the problem was resolved in the next version.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your understanding as we continuously strive to ensure the PayPal Payments plugin functions optimally for all users, and not only for the vast majority. We regret that your experience was not up to expectations, but please know that the support team is always here to help and improve your experience.

So in the future, if you encounter any issues or have questions, we encourage you to open a thread in the dedicated support forums or contact the support team directly.

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Paypal denied payments never happened before and has not happened since i rolled back but maybe it’s the client’s fault.

Checkout process has been modified with Elementor and i’ve got plugins (for billing, to generate shipping sticker etc) hooked in the process as well.

I’ll wait until the plugin becomes reliable.

I have the same issue on orders without any details. But you must solve it asap, as well it is not normal, when order comes without any address and does not calculate then shipment costs and VAT. No phone.
