• For me, as of updating WooCommerce to 7.6.0, I cannot directly replace images using this plugin. I discovered this because I was replacing images, and halfway through the process, I updated WooCommerce. From that point on, nothing would replace properly any longer.

    Hello @britand,

Can you please give us more details about what exactly doesn’t work? Is there an error message when trying to replace an image? Can you share some screenshots or even better, a video recording showing the issue? It would also help a lot if you could send us the list of active plugins, because from my testing, WooCommerce 7.6.0 itself doesn’t interfere with Enable Media Replace (I just did a few replaces with the 2 plugins active and had no issues).

    Thank you!

    Hi Pedro,

Each time I tried to replace an image, the original would still display. I tried it multiple times and cleared cache to be sure.

So, I am not sure why it suddenly stopped working even thought I had already done 7 or 8 images before. Has anyone else reporting something similar?

I would really love this to work because it is an amazing time saver.

    Thanks!

If there is no error displayed, then most likely the image is replaced, but the old one is still cached. There could be several layers of cache depending on your setup and you should ensure you clear them, in the following order:

      • CDN cache (eg. Cloudflare, StackPath). Please do this through your CDN’s dashboard, not through your cache plugin or hosting dashboard.
      • Cache plugins (eg. Autoptimize, WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, SG Optimizer, WP Fastest Cache etc.)
      • Server cache (eg. SiteGround, Bluehost)
      • Browser cache (eg. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)

To better understand the cache, its use, and how you can clear it, please read our edifying article ??

The other alternative is to use the second option of the plugin “Replace the file, use the new file name, and update all links”, as that usually brings another file name and caching should not be an issue anymore.

Please let us know how it goes!

I cleared cache on the site, host, etc., and I am still seeing the old image. So, I am not sure why it isn’t appearing to be replaced. I can set up access to our website for you, if you would like to go in and investigate further. Thanks, Pedro!

Thanks. I tried all of these options, and my old images still display. Not sure what to do from here.

      Hi britand,

Can you please tell us what’s the URL of the image?

      Thank you,
