I downloaded your plugin, installed it to my wordpress, added the Google API key, and it’s not working. Any suggestions?

Ah ha! Thanks for giving me the link to test it out. When on the checkout page, I can see this error in the browser console…

This API project is not authorized to use this API. Please ensure this API is activated in the Google Developers Console: https://console.developers.google.com/apis/api/places_backend?project=_ For more information on authentication and Google Maps Javascript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

I went to the link you shared it gives me a dashboard to see Traffic, Errors, Media Latency, etc., and shows that the Google Maps Javascript API is enabled. Is there something else I need to turn on, like in the Credentials area?

It’s not just Google Maps Javascript API, it’s Google Places API Web Service. You need to enable that.

I’ve finally gotten through everything else on my list and now this is the last thing I need to get working. I’ve enabled both Google Maps and Google Places. I have API keys for both. I set up HTTP referrers (web sites) to use *.schoolmatch4uproducts.com/* on both API keys.

The autocomplete worked for a few minutes, but now I have the exclamation point error in the address field and I can’t get it to go away.

@ryse, I just tested it again, and now it looks like you maybe deactivated the plugin.

I just turned it off about 20 minutes ago because someone couldn’t process their order. How can I get this fixed? I need to keep orders coming through, but I also need to figure this out.

Would it help if I gave you access to the site? If so, give me your email address.

First, try removing the http referrers from the api key. I usually just click the “Get Key” button, type in a project name, click the button, and it gives me an API key which should work.

I adjusted the HTTP referrers (web sites) in the Key Restrictions and got it to work.

So, just one more question. Does it only verify the street address? I saw it do the autocomplete for that part but nothing else.

Nevermind. I kept using test addresses that were showing up in my autocomplete so it wasn’t using plugin to validate things. I’m all good. Thanks for your patience with me.

Wonderful! It’s no problem at all. I’m glad it worked for you.
