Not working

This plugin is not working at the moment. No output. Tried putting activation code ‘<?php if ( function_exists( ‘breadcrumb_trail’ ) ) breadcrumb_trail(); ?>’ in different places in the header template.
I’m using the latest WordPress 4.1 and the latest Twenty Fourteen template
