• The restore button does not rename the “AWPCP Main page” as it says it should. It doesn’t seem to rename any pages as it said it should in fact.

The site is supposed to work at mysite.com/”AWPCP Main page” from what I understand.

Now, an intelligent developer would put a big clear button saying “CLICK HERE TO VIEW YOUR CLASSIFIED PAGE” but not these guys. They in fact store it in the documentation, which seems to be incorrect because I just get a 404 when trying the syntax they suggest.

This image says it all: https://i.imgur.com/kw2LRB5.png

    Not very user friendly.

  • Hi macdonjo,

I’m sorry that you had a bad experience here. That’s not our goal.

You are correct that “Restore” does not save the page settings–it’s not intended to. That would be the Save Settings button at the bottom instead. I’m sorry that wasn’t more clear when you were trying to edit things.

It looks like your page setup got corrupted and that’s what restore should be used for–but only after you put your page(s) for AWPCP in the trash and empty it. After that, restore will work as advertised.

The restore button is intended to be used when your AWPCP pages have been deleted, corrupted or moved around and the association between the page and the plugin has been lost. If you’re just changing page names, update the fields and then click Save Settings. As you noted, we do cover this in the documentation here: https://awpcp.com/documentation/#settings-pages

In the future, if you have support issues and need assistance, we’re more than happy to answer questions on the support forum–we’re very responsive and this sort of thing could have been cleared up quickly with a support request.
