Not validating incorrect VAT numbers

    Out of the box, the EU VAT Assistant doesn’t accept invalid or fake numbers. The only way to make it accept those numbers is to enable the “Accept invalid VAT numbers” option in its settings. That will let invalid numbers go through, but it won’t apply a VAT exemption for them.

    Perhaps that option was enabled by mistake. If you disable it, the EU VAT Assistant will reject invalid VAT numbers.
