@tac28 – Deactivating NextGEN Gallery should be enough to stop any functionality it has from being used. If you are not longer using NextGEN Gallery you could also delete the plugin from your site but even still there is no reason for a NextGEN Gallery CRON job to be running when NextGEN Gallery is not active.

You may need to go back to your web host and ask for more specifics as to where they are actually seeing that cron job still active?

    Hi Cais,

    Thanks for that ??

The plugin was deleted a long time ago so there seems to be nothing left to delete.

The cron is showing in ‘What’s in Cron’ plugin.

The text ngg_delete_expired_transients also appears in several files when I searched all the site files with TextWrangler. They appear to be backup files as in FileZilla there is definitely no NextGEN plugin.

I am deleting the backup files. They are from Duplicator and I don’t use that plugin anymore.

@tac28 – If these files persist there must be something going on but I believe you are on the right track to getting this sorted out.

    Thanks for the update.

    Hi again,

I have deleted the files but the ngg_delete_expired_transients is still there and still showing in the ‘What’s in Cron’ plugin.

@tac28 – Have you tried deactivating (possibly removing/re-installing?) / reactivating the “What’s in Cron” plugin?

Maybe this is something its author is aware of, have you brought it to their attention?

    Hi again,

I found the ngg_delete_expired_transients still in 2 places, but have been able to delete them it seems.

Hoping that will fix it ??
