I have a custom post type that I was using revisionize on. When I publish the revision it is not moving the original to Draft status and the new one says it is published but it is still marked as a revision. Both the Original and the Revision are published.

The edit page for the revision still says that it is a revision of the original and that publishing it will overwrite.

It has worked fine on other custom post types just not this one.

Any ideas on what is going on and how i can fix this?

@gms199 – Hmm. Nothing immediately comes to mind. How is this particular CPT different from your others? It sounds like there could be some unhandled error happening when transitioning the Revision from draft to publish mode.

I have the same problem. I just noticed it when trying to publish a page. It worked before. Maybe the WordPress 4.9 update?

@ckaden – can you show me the definition of your CPT? Are there other plugins you’re using like ACF or Types? More info would be helpful for me to try and reproduce this. Thanks!

I wasn’t refering to a CPT, but the standard wordpress page. I haven’t changed my plugins lately.
I can’t say when exactly the problem started to appear, as I use it only quite rarely. Everything works correctly except publishing/overwriting. It simply stays as a revisionize version without changing the original page. The publish button changes from “publish” to “update” afterwards. Sorry, that’s all I can tell you.

@ckaden, @gms199 – I have identified the problem. It’s related to the ACF plugin. I’m assuming you both have ACF – likely the PRO version installed. Can you confirm which version of ACF or ACFPRO you have installed.

I’m investigating a fix and will update this ticket once a new version is deployed.

There is a workaround, but it’s not ideal. Use ACF to add a single custom field to the Page (or CPT) that Revisionize isn’t working for. Once there’s a field associated with your Page or CPT, Revisionize publishing should work. If you try this out, please let me know if this works either way.

    Thanks for your patience!

Hi. Yes I am using ACF Pro version 5.6.5. Let me know if you want me to test anything out.

    Thanks,

@gms199 @ckaden Please update to version 1.3.1. It should resolve the issues you’re having. Thanks for reporting the problem!

Thanks for your work! I haven’t ACF installed, though. I will test your update in the near future and will report back.

    /edit: HAVEN’T, not have, sorry!
