Not update WordPress to version 4.9.6.

    Hi
    Plugin Companion Auto Update did not update WordPress to version 4.9.6. Neither yesterday nor today. I have no problems with updating plugins and themes. The problem affects all of my pages, which are at different hosting.

    Seems to be an issue with WordPress, but will look into it.

    It was / is indeed a WordPress issue.

    It turns out that the WordPress Development team disabled the auto update system after discovering that a few plugins were incorrectly loading the new privacy features and triggering fatal 500 errors on the frontend of user’s sites.
