I want to edit the tribe_events type layout – is that even possible? I don’t mean the single-event.php or single-event-blocks.php files, I mean in the WP Dashboard when you click EVENTS > ADD NEW and a new blank post template is loaded:
    post-new.php?post_type=tribe_events

I know I can change the look of this when it’s rendered to the site visitors with the single-event.php files, but I want to edit the bit where I enter the information as there are additional blocks I want to include and I want to rearrange the layout from the default one.

At the moment I am creating a new event, then deleting all the blocks on the page and using the reusable blocks in WP to insert the layout that I want, but it would be nicer to be able to just have all new events open with the layout and blocks I need.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I can see in the Editor.php file the code that pulls the blocks together to create the page I am trying to edit, can I override that in a child theme and add custom html to it?

    Hi there!

Thanks for writing in with your question. The short answer is that we will soon start to work on better Site Editor / Gutenberg support.

One of the things we’ll be tackling is block patterns to do precisely what you’re talking about. However, currently, the Editor.php file that you’re looking at is not set up for a template override.

Just to set expectations, this is a big undertaking and likely will take us some time to work on and test before we can release it. However, this is something that is already on our roadmap!

Until then, a potential workaround is to use Divi Events Calendar (which gives more granularity, control, but relies on the Divi Builder (theme or plugin).

    I hope this helps!

We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
