Not Sure Why Site Loads So Slowly

  • Hello,

    I have recently set up a site at crucialgamer.com, whilst setting it up I kept running in to site speed issues.

    After checking various site speed tools, Google Insights, GTMetrix, Pingdom etc etc

    I cannot understand why my site is taking around 10 seconds to load since all of these sites are telling me that it has a decent to good performance score.

    There has to be one thing holding it back but I am not sure what that is, it could be hosting or code but I am not sure.

    I currently host with Dreamhost and run a cloudflare free CDN.

    Hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation.

  • Have you tried loading your website in a different web browser or on a different computer? It only took 3.73 seconds for your site to load for me (I’m using Chrome).

    That is really strange, I just tried it out and it was over 11 seconds, it seems the server is having issues generating the page on their side so I am talking to my hosting company atm.

    Hopefully they can sort it out or just help me.
