  • True,

My site gets a couple of registrations a day. The plugin blocks 100 times that, though.

StopForumSpam.com has been up and down more than usual in the last few days, so that could be part of it.

Spammers will always find new ways to hit your site.

The plugin does NOT work well with cloudflare or sites behind a firewall.

If you use cloudflare, make sure that you install the cloudflare plugin.

If the plugin isn’t working for you, then it could be your configuration. You should uninstall the plugin.

This plugin just isn’t working anymore.

I’ve had it for over a year on about 30 sites. No problems until 2 months ago, when the flood gates opened. Now I’m getting an easy 100 a day per site.

I’ve been over the configuration, no settings have changed from 3-4 months ago. Came here today to see if there was a fix, but if the author is telling someone else to uninstall, that seems like the answer for me too.

You can try the htaccess file I’ve been building:

    https://www.blogseye.com/htaccess.txt

It’s generated by a modified version of Stop Spammers plugin. It cuts down the crap nicely. Read about it at BlogsEye.com
