I’m using the latest dev version of edge suite, after having performed some tests with Pacweb I am unable to get an animation to display unless I set it globally (doing so breaks the layout of every other page). This seems to be a unique problem. I can show the animation in a post but it wont display in a custom field. As soon as I turn off global settings it breaks and I have no idea why. This combination worked fine with every previous build of edge suite.

Aside from this issue all other testing seems ok.

Also if I set it as the default animation for the homepage it still doesn’t display. And setting globally works but throws out all of the columns in every other page.

    Hi shoalinagent,

Are you seeing any errors in your browser’s developer tools?

I just tried to add a new composition into a test site that is already running a bunch of animations (including a site wide one in the header). All of my pages with compositions are fine, except the new page I just created. I ‘upgraded’ my ES to the newest dev version from the experimental ea5 one. The new page I created will display the header composition but not a second one in the content area. Chrome dev tools is reporting an error about multiple compositions with different runtime versions and that one has been disabled.

Sounds like things are a bit worse from when we last spoke.

    Hi,

ES will now detect if your page has compositions with various runtimes and only show the first composition. If you use two runtimes at the same time all compositions crash. That was what would have happened in the old version, thought it would be nicer that way. No? @shoalinagent can you sent a link to the site, then I can take a look at the HTML and the console log.

If the problem persists, can you tell me how to reproduce the problem on a fresh wordpress installation? Which modules, which theme?

    The site is https://viscositydesign.com

The theme is my own based on quark starter theme. The field is a custom field from the advanced custom fields plugin (just a standard wysiwyg field). I am only using the one comp and have removed jquery from it. I have noticed if i set to global my buttons dont work but if I display the animation in a standard post it works perfectly. Im sure if a created a full width post field below the header using standard wp wysiwyg editor it will work fine as of your last update and that will likely be the next course of action.

I think given that this was a one off unique problem it’s only fair to close the thread. I have created a standard wp post field to contain the animation and all is working fine.

Just to clarify for future users. If you want full responsiveness on both the animation and container do not use custom fields unless you set the animation for global use.
