Not showing on frontend

I’ve changed the size of the ‘medium’ images in the Media settings from max height or width of 300 and 300 to 480 and 480. I’ve confirmed there are new images in the uploads directory of the correct size-there are now ones that are 480xSomeNumber or SomeNumberx480.
However, images previously inserted as ‘medium’ are still showing on the post pages in the old size, with tags like:
<img class="alignnone wp-image-1651 size-medium" src="https://foo.site/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Api_settings-282x300.jpg" alt="Api_settings" width="282" height="300">Do I have to reinsert all of the images to get the tags to form properly?
