• I have gone through the seven steps listed on the installation tab and I am not seeing anything on my second site. Is there another step I need to take to make it “appear” on my second site?
I am using the same theme on both.
I only activated the plugin on the second site.
I can choose the site and the menu in the shared menu settings.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Julie

    Hi Julie,

If you followed the steps, then the menu from the parent site should be appearing in the selected menu location on the child site. It could be there’s a bug or something conflicting, but I just tested with the latest version of WordPress and everything seemed to be working correctly. Could you let me know your WordPress version and theme you are using and maybe I can try to figure it out.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Ben,
    Same here.
Building a network of replicating sites.
Just installed your plugin (1.2). Not showing on sub-site. Shows nothing.
Wordpress 4.1.7 (cannot update because of sub-site issues in network, until resolved).
    URLs:
    home site: https://www.wingtsun.co.il/test/
    sub site: https://www.wingtsun.co.il/test/klil/
As you see, top menu is not there.
    Please, help.
    Tank you,
    Vera

After some more playing with it, got it to work.
What I did was disabling the menu and then saving it again.
Works now. Hope this helps you, as well.

Same here. I have a clean install of WordPress MU, default theme just one plugin (this one).
First the menu was only showing on the “child” sites and not on the main site. Now after changing some settings the menu is only showing on the main site.
I’ve deleted the menu and created it again. But that didn’t help.

In the seven steps for installation, what is meant by:
NOTE: Should not be activated on master menu site, and all sites sharing menus should use the same theme.

Because I can either activate the plugin for all sites or not.

    Hi,

My last remark is not true. You can either activate the plugin on a network level (in that case the plugin is not being shown in the sites) or you can leave the plugin deactivated on a network level and activate it at site level.

So I understand that on the site where I create the site wide menu, the plugin is not to be activated?
When I do that, the menu is not being shown on the other sites, just as it is not being shown when the plugin is activated on the main site. So either way, I cannot get it to work.

    Hi,

I’ve figured it out. I think. But it’s not working as expected.
I’ve two slots to add a menu too: main menu and social links menu (Theme: Twenty Fifteen)
What I want is a setup like
    —————————
    MS menu
    —————————
    Header
    —————————
    Site specific menu
    —————————
So I create a menu in the main site (MS menu) and I create menu’s in the other sites.
But in the locations tab under “Menu’s” I can only pick a site specific menu and not the MS menu. What happens then is that not the site specific menu is being shown, but the MS menu. So the site menu is being replaced.

So is it that it’s just not possible to use two menu’s? One site wide and one site specific?

I tried, but the menu is not appearing on the child sites.

    I am using WordPress 4.4
Installation process: Network Admin >> Plugins >> Add New >> search for Multisite Shared Menu >> Install Now

Then visited the child site; activated the plugin; Appearance >> Shared Menu Settings >> selected Main Site >> checked Main-Menu

Now the menu on the main site is working as usual, but not appearing on the child site. So far I activated it on one child site only, will try on the other child sites once it works fine.

    Any help??
