Not showing in sidebar

Is it possible that there are no authors to show with your current settings?

No, there are authors to show but the widget doesn’t stick on the sidebar. Whenever I place it there, it goes missing after it’s been saved.

You mean it goes missing in the admin? As in the appearance->widgets page?

No. I can see the widget in the Widgets page but when I drag it to the sidebar and refresh the page, it disappears unlike the other widgets

This was something weird which was resolved by actually disabling all other plugins and then re-enabling them.
